On January 9, 1996, she was delivered by her Son to the author for the first diagnosis and treatment. The patient contracted diabetes of type 11. Treated by each great hospital in the City and Province, the patient's condition was not steady, over and over. Fasting blood -glucose 13.0 mmol/L, glucose in urine (+ + + +). And now, the patient is feeling xerostomia, tiredness fatigue, and lumbocrural pain weak and limp. Food and drink and Amount of urine is not too much, frequency of micturition, urine concentration, sticky, a sweet taste (the patient tasted her own urine every day). Lassituded and was addicted to sleep (slept 9 hours in the night, and more than 2 Hs. at Noon). Dried eyes .The skin is withered dull and dry, looks haggard, dark and gloomy, not corona. Supervising eyeground pathologic changes, retinal hemorrhage progressive binocular blurred vision .She has been taken the operations of eyes laser four times in a great hospital, but not a clear change .She loses weight daily (she was a fat woman). The Disease was called Xiaoke (diabetes) by TCM. In the prescription, the Radix Trichosanthis and Radix Puerariae are promoting the production of body fluid to quench thirst. Rhizoma coptidis is clearing away the heart-fire. Fructus Lycii, Fructus Corni and Semen Euryales tonifying kidney and reinforce primordium and nourishing the liver to improve visual acuity.

Because the patient lives alone in Deyang, her son is in the branch of Mianyang, drifting from place to place, till on January 12-14,she had just taken the three doses of medicine. On Jan.17.she was accompanied here for the further consultation. The patient's mental attitude was very good. Full of vigour, taking freely and to her heart's content, and talking that she has recovered from the illness when she has just taken the first medicine--- she achieved marked success on the Second day, felt the whole symptom has been faded away, relaxed and cosy. The appetite is better than before (she lacked appetite in the past). The urine is normal (not lanquid. concentrated and haven't a sweet taste). The frequency of micturition has shown some improvement. The black reflections has been a decrease in the eyes. The eyes are clearer than before. All over the body is snugly, full of vigour. The former prescription was taken three doses again. The third diagnosis was on Jan.31.The symptom remain stable. Chemical examination of the hospital was shown: fasting blood-glucose 9.0mmol/L, glucose in urine (+). Still a little xerostomia and tiredness. The channels and Vessels State was thready and deep, red tongue proper, yellow slight coating on the tongue. The original prescription minus Radix Puerariae add Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae 15g, regulating the flow of qi and invigorating the spleen, taking three doses too. The fourth diagnosis was on February 16; all the symptoms had disappeared. Chemical examination confirmed that the blood-glucose was regularly, glucose in urine (-). In fomer times, the binocular blurred vision, the right is more than

the left, and now, the binocular vision has recovered to some extent, the right eye's vision is better than the left on the contrary. Up to now, the patient's diabetes have been clinical treated, but still have to nourish and invigorate the spleen and kidney, regulating the flow of qi and nourishing the blood, resuming the constitution. So he wrote out the prescription of Bazhen Tang (Eight Precious Ingredients Decoction) adding and subtracting: subtracting Radix Glycyrrhizae, adding Pericarpium Cirri Reticulatae, Rhizoma Pinelliae, Radix Aucklandiae, Radix Astragali seu Hedysari, Rhizoma Polygonati, Radix Ophiopogonis, Radix Scutellariae, Jiao-san -xian (Fructus Crataegi, Massa Medicata Fermentata, Fructus Hordei Germinatus), still taking three doses. It was two years and eight months since she was recovered, to survey the patient who hasn't any clearly unwell, blood-glucose and glucose in urine are regular.

The patient's first diagnosis was on Jan. 9,1996, after three times of diagnosises and treatments, took nine doses of medicine (during the treatment, she stopped taking any other treating and medicine else, without food controlling too, and let it conform to the course of nature), and has been cured basically. On February 6,the patient gave the author a piece of silk banner, the words on which is "sickness retires as his qi flow in, it effects a miraculous cure and brings the dying back to life."

Because the patient is old, and she lives far away from the city, seeking medical advice is unsuitable, so there was a stage of no medicine for three to ten days between every two diagnosises. If she had taken the medicine continuously, the therapeutic effectiveness will be still more ideal and the course of treatment will be shorter.

What Mentioned above is the case's notes treating by TCM. In order to explain the problem narrated respectively, in fact, the qigong's treatment went on to the end. The patient made a motion to exchange information naturally with the master the moment she came in. The master was talking with the patient each other imperceptibly to distinguish and correct the patient's idea, determine the types of channel and collateral and functional activities of qi, establish the curing method. In this way, the recipe has been carrying strong cured information (Taoist magic figures or incantations), the patient may keep it on her body continuously, taking treatment's effect

From The beginning until being recovered, the patient was treated all along in the master's qi-field, the recipe she put on, the decoction of Chinese herbal medicine she drank, are all of the master's information. Every seeking medical advice (go to the author) is both prescribing and giving off gong to cure. Moreover, the author still gave off gong far to cure the patient when he practiced gong every evening.

Thus, we wouldn't distinguish what is the qigong treating and what is the TCM treating. There is TCM in qigong, and there is qigong in TCM, merging into an organic whole, the therapeutic effect is multiple.
