Xie Xueli's Method of Qigong Mr. Xie Xueli, born in 1960, began to practice Qigong in 1976 and has been a special member of China Qigong Science Research Association since 1990. The "Yili(Power of Changes) Qigong", which he presides Over, is a combination of activeness and passiveness with idea as auxiliary. "Yili Qigong" has positive curative effects on some chronic diseases, cancer, diabetes, lying-in woman convulsions, etc. . The normal persons who practice "Yili Qigong" can become more energetic and prolong his life to some extent. It is relatively easy to learn and make popular, which has been proved by the former experience in repeated instruction. The main principle of which is "S"-shape and "O"-shape, it means that not only in form but also in the idea the "Qi" circulates upward according to the principle of "S"-shape and "O"-shape, gradually deepens and finally reaches the ideal state of harmony between "form" and "Qi", "idea" and "spirit", "Yili Qigong" can be divided into 2 kinds:"Health Qigong" and "Skill Qigong". "Health Qigong" has 10 chapters; "Skill Qigong" has five phases: elementary course, Primary -level, middle-level, and high-level and development of potentiality of human beings. Some trainees practiced this Yili Qigong reflected that they felt a strong "Sense of Qi": some of them can even send out "Qi" at a long distance. Mr.Xie has organized Qigong training courses nearly one hundred times in different parts of Zhejiang Province and trained many followers in Zhejiang. In 1989, he was sent by Zhejiang Provincial Government and Hangzhou Municipal Government to Japan to teach and spread the knowledge of Qigong. It is the first time for Zhejiang to send qigong Master abroad to teach Qigong. In Japan, the mayor of Fukui granted him an interview. In 1991, he published his "A Special Collection of Yili Qigong" in the journal "China Applied Psychology", Since 1991, he has been teaching Qigong in Japan. NHK. The biggest TV station in Japan has shot two special programmers to recommend him and his "Yili Qigong". Many journals in Japan such as Yomiuri Shimbun, Asahi Shimbun, Mainichi Shimbun, Sinkei Shimbun, Hokkaido Shimbun, Fukui Shimbun, Muroran Local Paper, Tomakomai Local Paper and two health magazines as well as other medias have made special reports on his activities for about 40 times. In 1994, Mr Xie published his book "On Yili Qigong", which was collected by the Japan Diet and Government Library in an optical disk. This book was also listed in the catalogue published by the said library for recommending new books. Now in Japan there are many folk organizations such as "Yili Qigong Association", "Yili Qigong Fellow Trainees Society", "Yili Qigong Symposium", etc. In October 1997, the "World Meeting of Combination between Western and Chinese Traditional Medicines" was held in Beijing. At the Meeting he read his thesis: "On the Relation between Qigong, Taiji Boxing, Chinese Painting, Calligraphy and Health Preservation" which was selected into the these collection of the meeting.
